Germany Has Returned to Crimea the Coins Stolen in Days of War

Germany returns to Crimea a collection of the antiquarian coins stolen from museums in days of the Great Patriotic War. On this «Rosbalt» have been informed in press-service SSU.

Antiquarian coins are a part of the well-known Bospor collection which have been taken out from Crimea in days of war. The collection of the coins which have been taken out during time of the Second World War from occupied territory, the German police to Munich in 2008 has revealed. Two years employees of the Kerch museum, field investigators of Kerch city department SG SS of Ukraine in АR Crimea, representatives of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine carefully assembled proofs of an accessory of coins to Bospor collection. The documentary Ukrainian party documentary and information materials also became the base for returning of coins to Ukraine.

Solemn drive of coins to Kerch historical and cultural reserve will take place on December, 9th.

Let’s notice that the collection of a museum of Kerch has been hidden by curators of a museum at approach to a city of Germans in days of war. Numerous fights for a city have completely destroyed Kerch — all witnesses of the evacuation were lost also. In a collection the coins covering all periods Bospor cotter have been assembled.
