The initiative group of pilots from among the Crimean Tatars «Vatan kanatlari» («Native land Wings») has addressed to the Chairman of the Supreme Rada of Autonomous republic Crimea Anatoliju Gritsenko with the offer to consider at the nearest session of the Crimean parliament an assignment question to the International airport «Simferopol» of a name of the pilot, twice the Hero of Soviet Union of Amet-khan Sultan.

The corresponding circulation was accepted on enlarged session of initiative group. 
As it is noted in circulation, in the world there is a practice when names of national heroes name the airports. For example, the airports of John Kennedy (USA), Ben Gurion (Israel), Mustafa Kemal Ataturk (Turkey), Charles de Gaulle (France) that underlines respect of citizens for the history and national colour of this state. «We, the undersigneds, consider that within the limits of preparation for celebrating of 90th anniversary from the date of a birth of the native of Crimea, the great pilot-expert who has taken active part in fights for clearing of Crimea from fascist aggressors, it is necessary for Supreme Rada of Crimea to make of the Hero of Soviet Union of Amet-khan Sultan the decision on assignment to the International airport» Simferopol «of his name» twice, — is told in circulation.
According to members of initiative group, assignment to the airport of a name of the outstanding person, Crimean, will not require the legendary expert, the pilot-hero any, material inputs, without considering costs for manufacturing of a new seal of the airport. «During too time, satisfaction on the eve of the next resort season the Supreme Rada of this circulation will demonstrate company availability of tolerance in autonomies, care of the Crimean government of image and appeal of our peninsula, and also will favorably affect airport» Simferopol «status as international», — authors of the circulation consider.
The international airport «Simferopol» is in the Autonomous republic Crimea property, in terms of volume passenger transportation takes the second place in Ukraine after the International airport «Borispol» (Kiev).
