The authorities of Simferopol carry on negotiations on a question of building of the Cathedral mosque. On it to journalists was informed by mayor Victor Ageev in Simferopol on December, 30th.

«Concerning the Cathedral mosque negotiations are carried on, is unequivocal decisions has accepted nobody, there is a norm of the law which is necessary for carrying out, therefore our lawyers prosecute this subjects really adequately to leave a situation that all have been satisfied by the accepted decision», — Victor Ageev has told.

Thus he considers important «to find common language» with all inhabitants of Simferopol.

Let’s remind, in 2004 session of the Simferopol City Council the decision on the coordination to Spiritual steering of Moslems of Crimea the locations of a site for building of the Cathedral mosque around 22 Yaltinskyay Street was accepted. However later deputies have refused it. In 2008 they have coordinated the mosque location on a site along the 6, Lugovaya Street. Afterwards the Simferopol City Council recognized the ground area around Yaltinskaya Street as green space, having appropriated it the name «Forest park» Anniversary ».

However Moslems have declared that the mosque will be erected to Yalta Street. They have assembled hundred thousand pieces of a shell rock and monetary donations for building, and also have started to erect a fence.12 May, 2010 Economic court ARC has satisfied the statement of claim of Spiritual steering of Moslems of Crimea for allocation of the ground area for building of the Cathedral mosque on 22, Yaltinskaya street. In turn, according to representatives of Medzhlis, the Simferopol authorities have appealed on the given decision.

On October, 21st the Simferopol deputies have allocated means for engineering specifications working out on an establishment of borders of green space for forest park creation «Anniversary» to the specified address.
