The Supreme Rada of Autonomous republic Crimea asks People’s Deputies of Ukraine to make changes to the Law of Ukraine «About immigration». The corresponding decision was accepted at the next plenary session of the Crimean parliament on June, 16th.
In particular, deputies ask the Supreme Rada of Ukraine to add the law «About immigration» with the paragraphs providing the right to immigration to persons who in 1941-1944 have been deported from places of constant residing to a national sign (the Crimean Tatars, Armenians, Bulgarians, Greeks and Germans), and subjected to repression which in the subsequent have been rehabilitated, and also to members of their families and descendants who come back to a constant residence to Ukraine.
In an explanatory note to the bill it is said that acceptance of such changes will simplify returning process in the country of the specified persons, will facilitate import by them on customs territory of the country of property, and also will accelerate acquisition of the Ukrainian citizenship. «Since spring of 2007 references of the citizens whose relatives have not been passed through check points on entrance to Ukraine have become frequent, and concerning some of them decisions about non-admission or an interdiction for entrance to the country from six months till five years» have been accepted, — is told in the document.
Thereupon the Crimean deputies have underlined that acceptance of such changes will allow to carry out delivery to the repatriates who have been subjected to repression and members of their families, and to descendants of a kind on a constant residence under their statements or statements of their lawful representatives without registration of the permission to immigration. «The present project is developed with a view of expansion of the rights and freedom of the person and the citizen, its acceptance will allow to simplify process of voluntary and unobstructed returning of the persons deported to a national sign, subjected to repression and in the subsequent rehabilitated, and also members of their families and the descendants arriving on a constant residence to Ukraine, import by them on customs territory of the country of property, acquisition of citizenship of Ukraine, adaptation and integration into the Ukrainian society», — is noted in the document.
