Russia could provoke disorders in Crimea. Such possibility supposed on October, 2nd, 2008 during consultations in Vilnius the European and American diplomats, it is told in the dispatch of embassy of the USA on duty, published on site WikiLeaks.
The American diplomat Daniel Fried has expressed concern concerning possible subversive activities of Russia in Crimea, having added that on peninsula the requirement in bigger quantity of social programs and investments is felt.
«Russians doesn’t need to give the chance to operate freely (in Crimea)», — he has declared, informs KyivPost.
Representatives of the European countries have declared that «it would be quite good to create information offices of EU to involve visitors in this region», and one of them has told about necessity of speedup of the introduction of Ukraine for the NATO.
Let’s add that the Russian authorities have publicly refused territorial claims to Ukraine, in particular concerning Crimea. Nevertheless the vice-president of committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on affairs of the CIS Konstantin Zatulin has assumed that in Crimea the Caucasian scenario if in ARC will demand from Crimeans refusal of the originality can repeat. On a question on, whether the situation similar to Ossetia and Abkhazia will repeat in Crimea, he has answered: «It is necessary to be afraid of that actually is terrible that is at the bottom, instead of a consequence. Why inhabitants of this region haven’t wanted to be citizens of Georgia? Because Georgia was at war with them and denied their right to originality and existence».
In his opinion, «if Ukraine prepares to be at war with inhabitants of Crimea and Sevastopol, demanding from them that they have refused the past and the present, from the belief…, then are inevitable… Conflicts». At the same time Zatulin has noticed that if Ukraine «doesn’t prepare to assimilate Russian population, will allow it to develop… Freely and to bring the contribution to its development» then no problems will exist.
