Being at the power, Egor Gaydar did not support popular in the beginning of 1990 the idea of struggle for the Russian status of Crimea and Sevastopol.

It was declared by the deputy of Moscow City Council Michael Moskvin-Tarhanov representing fraction of Gaydar «the Democratic choice» in capital parliament in 1994-98.

And kind relations of two states will necessarily lead to that borders remain transparent, and citizens of both countries will feel comfortable in Crimea, without dependence from its formal status and the state accessory. We, in the scepticism, believed that it is necessary to take of a strong legal position and not to relax, Sevastopol not to give, for Crimea too to struggle, to the Ukrainian leaders not to trust.
