As Gaydar Has Insisted on Leaving Crimea to Ukraine

Being at the power, Egor Gaydar did not support popular in the beginning of 1990 the idea of struggle for the Russian status of Crimea and Sevastopol.

It was declared by the deputy of Moscow City Council Michael Moskvin-Tarhanov representing fraction of Gaydar «the Democratic choice» in capital parliament in 1994-98.

«We were opponents of signing of» the big contract »with Ukraine so that« to suspend »in legal space a situation, separately across Crimea, separately across Sevastopol, blocking territorial dispute possibility of the introduction of Ukraine in the NATO», — the deputy in the publication on a portal of «Kreml.org» recollects.

«Egor Timurovich, I remember, has brought me to a card and has shown, where pass oil pipelines and gas pipelines on territory of Ukraine, explaining that we should have with it kind relations. And kind relations of two states will necessarily lead to that borders remain transparent, and citizens of both countries will feel comfortable in Crimea, without dependence from its formal status and the state accessory. We, in the scepticism, believed that it is necessary to take of a strong legal position and not to relax, Sevastopol not to give, for Crimea too to struggle, to the Ukrainian leaders not to trust. It was one of the main our political divergences with our leader», — Moskvin-Tarhanov writes.

«Neither we, nor Egor Timurovich never overpersuade each other, but it did not influence our warm and friendly, human relations», — he has noted.
