Has passed already more than three months since that moment, as the initiative group of pilots «Vatan kanatlari» («Native land Wings»), on purpose to immortalise memory of the great pilot, Ametkhana Sultan has proposed to appropriate to the international airport «Simferopol» a name Twice the Hero of the USSR.

With the given initiative «Vatan kanatlari» have addressed to the chairman of SR АР Crimea Anatoly Gritsenko as the Crimean parliament is the proprietor of the airport. This initiative has received the big public resonance and has found support among various groups of society. For today, on this point in question it is published more than hundred various information and publications in various mass-media, including, and foreign.

In turn, the speaker of the Crimean parliament has directed the given request on consideration of constant commission SR ARC on the industry, building, transport, communication and a fuel and energy complex, and also to Ministerial council of an autonomy and in the Executive Committee of the City Soviet of People’s Deputies of Simferopol.

«In Constant commission SR ARC on the industry, building, transport, communication and a fuel and energy complex at present a question on assignment to the international airport» Simferopol «of a name Twice the Hero of the USSR Ametkhan Sultan was not considered. However, in spite of the fact that the commission is a joint body and any questions directed to the given commission, are considered by committee-men, the chairman of the commission Victor Ageev, having taken the lead, has made the decision personally», — the chairman of initiative group of pilots «Vatan kanatlari» Nuri Bejtulaev has told. The proof to it ,is the letter from 22.03.10. № 14/12-16 addressed to Nuri Bejtulaev which text news agency «QHA» has. In the letter it is said that «to appropriate to airport» Simferopol «a name of Ametkhan Sultan it is impossible, as according to norms of the International organisation of civil aircraft (ICAO) there can not be two international airports bearing one name».» Now the name of Ametkhan Sultan is already appropriated to the international airport «Makhachkala», — told in the letter of Ageev.

Actually, there are no problems in this point in question. The decision on renaming is accepted by the Supreme Rada of Crimea as the airport is the autonomous republic property.

Appealing to requirements of the International organisation of civil aircraft also out of place. In particular, we have taken an interest in the Ministry of transport and communication of Ukraine about procedures of renaming of the airports. As Anna Slobodjanjuk has noted the Press Secretary of the ministry, on norms of the International organisation of civil aircraft to each airport of the world the special code which even at enterprise renaming «the International airport» Simferopol «will not be changed is appropriated and consequently no problems in the identical name of two airports are present, as at them different international codes.

«There are certain international classifications and each airport has a code which is appropriated at the international level and do not vary, i.e. they are necessary for air navigation. Irrespective of the airport name, the code remains same what it was. Renaming will change nothing», — has noted A.Slobodjanjuk.

Besides, the chairman of commission Ageev has not considered that fact that in due time Open Society «the International airport» Simferopol «has been repeatedly renamed and did not bear the big expenses. In particular,« the Simferopol incorporated aviagroup »has been renamed into»Krymavia», further in« the State international airport «Simferopol» and in Open Society «the International airport» Simferopol «.

The minister of an industrial policy, transport, communication and fuel and energy complex АR Crimea Nikolay Cherevkov in the letter № КО-32/58/2 from 01.03.10., addressed to Bejtulaev AD notices that renaming (it is a question not of renaming, and about name assignment ) geographical objects probably, at repetition of names of homogeneous geographical objects in borders of one administrative and territorial unit, necessity for returning to separate geographical objects of their historical names, and also essential change of functions or purposes of geographical object. «Renaming of geographical objects is carried out with the account of opinion of the majority of the population which live in territory where these objects are located, according to the Law of Ukraine« About referenda », — is told in the letter.

In this connection, minister N. Cherevkov, summarising, underlines that considering the above-stated for decision-making of renaming of the airport referendum carrying out on this point in question is necessary. Also, minister N. Cherevkov has expressed in the Crimean release of the newspaper «Komsomol truth» № 46 from 25.02.2010. That airport renaming will cause considerable expenses as it is necessary «to alter pilot charts with instructions of a transit of planes». To data of the Crimean officials, according to definition: «PILOT CHARTS are maps of the river, the channel and other waterways (scale 1:2000-1:25000) with instructions of coast, directions of the currents dangerous to navigation of places and the basic signs of navigable conditions. Pilot charts — the major document for navigators», but in any way for movement of planes ».

According to initiators, the question of assignment to airport «Simferopol» of a name of Ametkhana Sultan is politized, as neither the chairman of the personal computer V.Ageev, nor minister N. Cherevkov in the answers do not refer to concrete article of the corresponding legislation of Ukraine and norms of the International organisation of civil aircraft (ICAO). In turn, there are various publications with ideas to appropriate to the airport Grigory Potyomkin’s name.

Let’s remind, public organisation «Taurian union» has suggested the Crimean authorities to appropriate to the international airport «Simferopol» a name of Russian prince Grigory Potyomkin. The organisation has extended such statement after in the Crimean parliament some commissions have supported idea about assignment to airport «Simferopol» a name twice the Hero of Soviet Union Ametkhan Sultan and have made decision to place for consideration sessions of parliament of Crimea.

The opinion of «the Taurian union», completely coincides with Victor Ageev’s opinion, the certificate to it is the reference of the organisation to the Crimean authorities and the answer of the chairman of the personal computer of V.Ageev addressed to the chairman of initiative group «Vatan kanatlari» Nuri Bejtulaev in whom it is noticed that assignment to the airport a name of Ametkhan Sultan will be inconvenient as the name of the Hero names the airport in Makhachkala (Dagestan, Russia).

In the statement the organisation notices the same as also V.Ageev in the letter to Bejtulaev that two international airports, on norms of the International organisation of civil aircraft (ICAO), cannot carry one name.

In this connection, representatives of the organisation make offers on airport renaming not in honour twice the Hero of the USSR Ametkhan Sultan, and in honour of Grigory Potyomkin who, as they said, «has brought the huge contribution to development of Novorossiya and Crimea».

Besides, they suggest to take out a question on airport «Simferopol» renaming on a city referendum that coincides with words of the minister of the industry of Crimea N.Cherevkov.

Once again it is possible to be convinced that in any questions which somehow concernhistory and cultures of the Crimean Tatars, is not important, whether they are directed on development of the Crimean Tatar people or all inhabitants of Crimea, there are people, is artificial politizing a situation. We will notice that the question on assignment to the International airport in Simferopol G.Potyomkin’s name did not rise never, there was no yet an initiative to name the airport in honour of Ametkhan Sultan in commemoration of his 90 anniversary.

On this point in question addressed to the general director of the State enterprise of service of an air traffic of Ukraine fulfilling duty «Ukraeroruh» Sergey Zdorovets is directed the deputy reference of the deputy of SR АR Crimea Shevket Kajbullaev with the request to give the information on, whether it is necessary to make changes to all aeronavigation documents, in «pilot charts with instructions of a transit of planes» as minister N. Cherevkov if Open Society «the International airport» Simferopol «will be called« Open Society «the International airport» Simferopol «of Twice Hero of the USSR Amet-khan Sultan» confirms. «In case if it is necessary, who to whom, what sum and on what basis of the statutory act should pay for entering of these changes», — it is told in circulation.
