Dear Mr. Abduraimov V.E.,

Chairman of the Kenesh (Council) Krylova St., 3/5
Simferopol, Crimea,

29 June 2012

Thank you for your letter to Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg, bringing to his attention the situation of the Crimean Tatar people in Ukraine. He is well aware of the issues relating to the rights and rehabilitation of the Crimean Tatars, and values the information submitted in your letter.

In this regard, he appreciates the concern with the situation of your people shown by Mr. Knut Vollebeek, the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities. Mr. Vollebeek is, as you may be aware, engaged in a dialogue with Ukrainian authorities in this matter. Norway fully supports the work of the High Commissioner.

Our Embassy in Kiev is following this issue closely and is prepared to continuing the dialogue with you.

Yours sincerely,

Stein Iversen
