The Crimean Tatars on a level with other people took part in the Great Patriotic War, and the facts confirming it, have been deliberately deformed by the Soviet power. It was declared by the chairman of Constant commission SR ARC on international relations and problems of the deported citizens Remzi Iljasov at press conference in the Crimean parliament on May, 6th.
According to Remzi Iljasov, in war participated about 60 thousand Crimean Tatars from which more than 36 thousand persons were lost. Besides, 17 thousand were active workers of guerrilla movement, 7 thousand — underground.
Remzi Iljasov has added that more than 20 thousand Crimean Tatars have been violently stolen by fascists to Germany. Thus 127 Crimean Tatar villages and villages have been wiped out.
On May, 8th in Simferopol, in square of Ismail Gasprinsky, there will pass a meeting with participation of the Crimean Tatars, has informed Remzi Iljasov. The meeting is organised by Council of representatives of the Crimean Tatar people at the President of Ukraine together with public organisations. In particular, participants of operations of the Second World War will gather for action. Remzi Iljasov has added that during a meeting the concert will be organised.
