As he said, head Medzhlisa could not leave contrary to will of Kurultaj — thus it would show an example that decisions of representation body can be carried out.

Dzhemilev in the comments was more frank. «It is a pity to me that I could not convince delegates of Kurultaj of the basic my thought. Why I have decided to resign? I wanted, that change of [chairman Medzhlis] has occurred during lifetime while I safe and sound and can assist the successor whoever have selected on this hard post», — he has told. On explanations of head Medzhlisa also it is possible to understand that among opponents of its resignation it is a lot of not only veterans of national movement of the Crimean Tatars, but also influential officials who are afraid that a new broom simply sweep away them from the posts.« Unfortunately, at people such impression that any order was established. It seems to them that if there will be a change, there will be also cataclysms. It always so seems. Actually sometimes happens better. The new stream, the new people, new ideas comes and, especially, after all old chairman Medzhlis does not leave anywhere, he nearby », — has assured Mustafa Dzhemilev. He has let know that after resignation was not going to withdraw from national movement.

The leader of an executive office of the Crimean Tatars also has hinted that would not admit, that new head of Medzhlis tried to act rashly. In this case the chairman would be simple for displacing. «There are second fears [at delegates of Kurultaj] that the unpredictable person can become chairman of Medzhlis, and goodness knows where he will move. For this purpose too there are no bases. At us such democratic institutes were established that if chairman of Medzhlis will do something counter to our base principles, at any time it is possible to call extraordinary session of Kurultaj, to reconsider and on its place to select another», — Dzhemilev has added.

Anew the question of change of chairman Medzhlis will be taken out on session of newly elected Kurultaj in 2011.
