Commercial Court of Crimea Has Allowed to Build the Cathedral Mosque

The economic court of Autonomous republic Crimea has satisfied the statement of claim of Spiritual management of Moslems of Crimea (SMMC) about allocation of the ground area for building of the Cathedral mosque in Simferopol.

As reported e-Crimea, proceedings between SMMC and the Simferopol City Council concerning building of the Cathedral mosque last already throughout several years. Earlier economic court of Crimea already obliged the City Council to conclude with SMMC the contract of rent of the ground area for mosque building, but this decision has been appealed against in the Higher economic court of Ukraine.

Earlier the city council of Simferopol has made the decision on assignment to a site along the 22,Yalta Street names «Forest park» Anniversary »with the subsequent definition of its borders and prohibition in this territory of carrying out of any civil work.

The INQUIRY: In July, 2004 the Simferopol city council has co-ordinated to Spiritual management of Moslems of Crimea a site of the ground area the area of 2,7 hectares in the 22,Yalta Street, and has given out the permission to working out of engineering specifications for building of the Cathedral mosque. However in January, 2008 at session of the Simferopol City Council the decision to allocate under a mosque a site the area of 2,7 hectares along 6, Lugovaya street, instead of a site on 22 Yalta Street was accepted.

On February, 12th, 2008 the Crimean Tatars have begun the action on 22, Yalta Street, on gathering of a stone-shell rock for building of the Cathedral mosque.

On February, 15th, 2008 the Economic court of Autonomous republic Crimea has obliged the Simferopol city council in ten-day term to conclude with SMMC the contract of rent of the ground area the area of 2,7 hectares in 22, Yalta Street, for building of the Cathedral mosque.

The higher economic court of Ukraine under the complaint of the Simferopol city council has returned business about a site for the Cathedral mosque on consideration of Economic court of Crimea. The Supreme court of Ukraine has left the decision of the Higher Comercial Court in force.
