On June, 13th in the Yalta theatre of a name of A.P.Chekhov has passed a concert of the Turkish military orchestra of the Joint Staff of armed forces of Republic Turkey «Mehteran». The military ensemble «Mehteran» has arrived in АR Crimea for participation in the International parade of military orchestras «War and peace» which a day before the Yalta concert, on June, 12th, has passed in Sevastopol, and in Crimea Turkish military musicians have devoted the second day of the stay to a concert in Yalta.
On the action the Turkish civil engineering firm of «Erbek» which have performed restoration works of the Yalta theatre of A.P.Chekhov (director Erdzhan Bekjar) gathered state employees, representatives of the public, creative intelligency of Crimea have gathered.
Turkish part was represented by Ahmet Bjulent Merich, the Consul general of Republic Turkey in Odessa the Plenipotentiary ambassador of Republic Turkey in Ukraine Murat Tamer, teachers and businessmen from Turkey, carrying out the activity in Ukraine.
Before a concert the Plenipotentiary ambassador of Republic Turkey in Ukraine Ahmet Bjulent Merich in the introductory speech has thanked all for the organisation of such evening in Crimea as similar actions, according to the ambassador, promote rapprochement of Ukraine and Turkey even more.
The first deputy of the Constant representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea Vladimir Kazarin has noticed that at Ukrainian-Turkish relations are present not only «pages» of military battles and oppositions, but examples of friendship and communications. Not last role in the history of Ottoman empire the Ukrainian by origin Roksolana, and mother of known Russian poet Vasily Zhukovskiy (1783-1852) who as Kazarin has noted, «has brought up Pushkin» has played, there was captivated Turkish woman Salha.
During a concert lasting about hour, products of Turkish national and military music have been executed, and also the film about stories of military ensemble «Mehteran» is shown. Special delight of public songs «have called Kymdan gelierum, аdim da Sinan…» («I have arrived from Crimea, call me Sinan…»), «the Sevastopol march», but most of all — specially studied one week prior to arrival in Crimea a song «Hey, guzel Kyrym!».
The ensemble «Mehteran» consists of 90 persons, to Crimea — profits of 66 persons. The concert program, as a rule, lasts about 50 minutes — 1 hour. In Yalta 19 products have been executed.
It is necessary to regret only that the concert of Mehteran has taken place not on quay of Yalta, after all then still more quantity of people (and many of them for the first time!) could estimate beauty, power and greatness of military music Osman empire and ensemble «Mehteran».
The inquiry. Мehter is a name of the most ancient military orchestra in the world. In Ottoman empire the military orchestra of Mehter was responsible for a banner, simultaneously was a symbol of independence of the state, played during fights, both a land and by the sea, inspiring fear in enemy soldiers and inspired Osman armies.
Меhter in a wartime was not only an orchestra which executed music for support of spirit of soldiers, during peace time, Mehter in a greater degree represented a musical orchestra, was a symbol of that the state, the people continues the existence. Besides, Mehter was used for this purpose what to draw attention of the people during reading of decrees.
In Mehter the Osman state there were wind instruments and percussion instruments. In an orchestra there was an identical quantity of the musicians playing wind instruments and percussion instruments. Music of an orchestra of «Mehter» has made the huge impact on Europeans who have started to create military orchestras. Besides, music of Mehter has influenced products of such known composers, as Mozart, Betkhoven.
