Babenko Insists on Building of Dzhuma-Dzhami on lugovaja Street

The head of Simferopol Gennady Babenko considers that for building of Dzhuma-Dzhami (the Cathedral mosque) there is no place better, than Lugovaja Str, 6 of Simferopol.

«That place which we offer, more foreseeable and is looked through on 20-25 kilometres. From the point of view of reason, this place more favourable», — was noted by the mayor.

Besides, Babenko has informed that in city council already «a question for itself have solved, to Moslems have given a fine place (Lugovaja, 6) if they do not want, let come on negotiations».

According to Babenko, on negotiations nobody is going to go. «They go to the President, NSCD (National Security council and defences ) also address to the foreign organisations, and to us nobody goes», — he has underlined.

The mayor considers that the main requirement of Moslems — loop road presence on the given place — will not be realised, since proceeding from a general layout of a city which is developed, the loop road will be transferred for city boundaries.

«It is necessary that designers of Medzhlis have written, where they transfer a loop road. Can at Medzhlis there will be a desire to transfer on a new roundabout prospective cathedral mosque», — the town governor has complained.

Babenko underlines that opposition proceeds «under their initiative». «I consider that no dictatorships from outside the nations and the nationalities living in Crimea and Simferopol, should be. If there is a question which does not dare, it is necessary to sit down a round table and to agree, and they do not want. At them the ultimatum — only here and only in such sizes», — was indignant it.

The mayor has added that, in connection with building of the new loop road, the existing road will not work: «In that case, it is necessary to construct one more road. They will not give money, as on a mosque money goes only the Turkish.

Let’s remind, in 2004 session of the Simferopol City Council the decision on the coordination to Spiritual management of Moslems of Crimea the location and the sizes of the ground area for building of the Cathedral mosque around Yalta St, 22 was accepted. However later deputies have refused ground area tap to the specified address. In 2008 they have co-ordinated the mosque location on a site along the Lugovaja St, 6, and in February of the same year the Simferopol City Council recognised the ground area around Yalta St, 22 and a zone adjoining to it forest-park.

In the end of February of current year the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Boris Deitch in the post card has called deputies of Akmesdzhit and mayor Gennady Babenko to reject political disagreements and to consider the problem on site allocation under building of the Cathedral mosque.

The Simferopol deputies have promised to return to consideration of a question after carrying out of public hearings.
