The initiative group of pilots «Vatan kanatlari» («Native land Wings»), become known thanks to the initiative on assignment of a name of Amethan Sultan to the airport of Simferopol, has directed the corresponding reference to president Victor Yanukovych.

The chairman of initiative group Nuri Bejtullaev explains necessity of the reference to the president because of Supreme Rada ARC inactivity in this question.

«For expired 7 months from the moment of reception SС of Crimea our previous reference with the initiative to appropriate a name of legendary pilot Amethan Sultan to the Simferopol airport neither last, nor its present management hasn’t found time to include at all this question in the agenda of the last plenary sessions», — Bejtullaev marks.

«This initiative, — is told in the text of the reference to the president, — has found very much broad support of the public and is widely shined on local television and radio, in domestic and foreign printing and electronic mass-media. Officially in SR АРC the support to our initiative have declared: 4 constant commissions VC (including profile — on the industry, transport, communication and a fuel and energy complex); the State museum of aircraft of Ukraine; the Union of officers of Ukraine; the Union of the Crimean Tatar officers; the Union of the Crimean Tatar writers; Public association« Russian of Ukraine »; Council of representatives of the Crimean Tatar people at the president of Ukraine; Spiritual management of Moslems of Crimea; All Ukraine ОО« the Forum of the people of Ukraine »; ОО« Namus »,« Temelli «,» Avdet »; Federation of paraglider pilots of Ukraine; Participants of the memorial service dated to 31st anniversary of tragical  destruction of the Amet-khan Sultan; Participants of the International chess tournament of memory of the Amet-khan Sultan; Inhabitants of the cities of Alupka and Yalta (nearby 200 persons); deputies of various levels and representatives of other public organizations and the autonomy enterprises ».

Have supported the initiative, Crimean Tatar pilots, and the mayor of Simferopol Gennady Babenko, the general director of airport «Simferopol» Vladimir Anufriev, the government of the Russian Dagestan. About absence of any restrictions of the legal character, concerning to competency of assignment of a name of Amethan Sultan to air collars of Crimea officially have declared International Civil Aviation Organization Institute (ICAOI) and the Ministry of transport and communication of Ukraine.

Authors of the reference explain inactivity of parliament of republic to that «in a management of Crimea there are forces which for the subjective reasons don’t want that to the Simferopol airport the honourable name outstanding Crimean citizen» has been appropriated.

Let’s remind that at a meeting with the President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych a member of Political council Milli Firka Timur Dagdzhi has addressed in the head of the state with the request to support the initiative of the Crimean public about assignment to the Simferopol airport of a name of Amethan Sultan, and also about assignment twice to the Hero of Soviet Union and a rank of the Hero of Ukraine.

Let’s notice that on July, 30th, 2010 at the initiative of the Russian public the monument of Amethan Sultan has been established in Yaroslavl, in the sky over which on May, 31st, 1942 the Soviet expert has made one of the feats, having rammed a bomber of Luftwaffe «Junkers-88».
