3rd session which has passed one of these days of 5th Kurultaj of the Crimean Tatar people actually has confirmed that leaders of a Medzhlis have decided to challenge present Ukrainian power.
Medzhlis — the organization which is applying for the right to represent all the Crimean Tatar people and considered as though as its informal «parliament» — is known for a long time for the extremely nationalist positions. It traditionally made related leaders of a Medzhlis with the Ukrainian nationalists and with using close ideology the Ukrainian government.
Though the Medzhlis also isn’t registered neither in an Ukrainian, nor at the Crimean level and its activity, strictly speaking, is illegal, this circumstance didn’t prevent to sponsor to its all Ukrainian authorities, since Leonid Kravchuk. However, seemingly, «Medzhlis members» have so believed in the indispensability for official Kiev as main Crimean russophobs that ultimatums to the new president of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych began to become impudent and deliver. Though the last, as it is known, difficultly enough the defender to name right Russian population, and he has first tried to adjust good relations with a Medzhlis (in spite of the fact that on presidential election the Medzhlis has actually urged the Crimean Tatars to vote against him).
However Yanukovych has dared to include in structure operating at the president of Ukraine Council of representatives of the Crimean Tatar people of several figures from the structures, oppositional to a Medzhliss management, in particular party Milli Firka and other public structures. Yanukovych’s this act has so offended the leader of the Medzhlis Mustafa Dzhemilev (the experienced russophob) that last even has refused to come on a meeting with Yanukovych during recent arrival of the last to Crimea.
Session of Kurultaj gathering one of these days, actually, should solve a question — whom to support on forthcoming elections in local authorities. Usually the Medzhlis always supported the National Ruh of Ukraine. The surprise doesn’t happen and this time — the Medzhlis will form the general list with the Crimean branch Ruh — the organization frankly phantom and presented in Crimea, probably, only the head, a certain Leonid Polunsky. As the question on elections has dared quickly and is expected, Dzhemilev has put before Kurultaj and a question on cooperation with the Ukrainian president. As in Kurultaj «Mezhlis members» fill traditionally, and has supported Dzhemilev — any cooperation while representatives of a Medzhliss won’t sit at Council of representatives of the Crimean Tatar people at the president of Ukraine exclusively. Т е. We will remind, the organizations, nobody registered and, hence, illegal, unlike same Milli Firka.
However for Dzhemilev and his associates it is essentially important to save and defend the monopoly for representation of all Crimean Tatars before the Ukrainian state. For this purpose, actually, this Council at the president of Ukraine, besides and a solving question of their formal legitimization also is necessary to them. And if in Council there will be also representatives of other organizations it turns out that the Medzhlis isn’t the representative of all Crimean Tatar people. That is, accordingly, it will be considered only as one of the organizations of the Crimean Tatars, in addition also unregistered. But the Medzhlis already almost therefore refuses to be registered two decades that doesn’t want to consider itself as easier public organization — it applies for the status of parliament of all Crimean Tatar people. It is an ideology corner stone of «Medzhlis members», from here and their claims for «the national-state autonomy».
«Is politically correct» it is expressed in requirements on adoption of law «about the rights of the deported people» which would serve overcoming of consequences to «Stalin deportation» and would promote «to successful and painless integration of representatives of the deported people into the Ukrainian society». Actually the Medzhlis draws on granting to representatives of the Crimean Tatar population of the special rights in Crimea. Certainly, at the expense of the rights of representatives of other nationalities which «Medzhlis members», without hesitating, name «visitors» on peninsula.
Last session of Kurultaj has once again demanded from the Ukrainian authorities of acceptance of such law. Mustafa Dzhemilev expects to press on Yanukovych not only threats of mass protest actions of the Crimean Tatars (to what the power already have somehow got gradually used), but also strengthening of the international pressure on this question.
With that end in view Dzhemilev and his henchmen intend to call the international forum on problems of Crimea and the Crimean Tatars. The Medzhlis intends to invite representatives of the European Union, Parliamentary assembly of the Council of Europe, EuroParliament, United Nations structures to it, OSCE, the Organizations Islamic Conference, Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic Countries, the Organization of the people not presented to the United Nations, the Federal union of Europe and etc. in general whom only it is possible, except for the Russian Federation. After all Russia as all same Dzhemilev repeatedly publicly declared, — «the historical enemy of the Crimean Tatar people». We will note, however, that isn’t pleasant to Dzhemilev not only Russia as that, but also about the Russian Volga region Tatars he responded impartially enough: a pier, «were on sale to Moscow», and «only units are ready to struggle for national independence».
The Ukrainian authorities, truth, aren’t going to give in yet to requirements of Dzhemilev and his associates. And opponents of Dzhemilev among Crimean Tatars, on the contrary, express readiness to cooperate with president Yanukovych. Leader of Milli Firka Vasvi Abduraimov has declared that «very much regrets» for shown Kurultaj the ultimatum to Yanukovych.He notices that «in a management of the organization a Medzhlis-kurultaj there were no strong-willed persons who could break absolutely unpromising, deadlock position of mister Dzhemilev. There there are people who could be useful, working in a uniform command under president».
«Medzhlis members, — is assured leader of Milli Firka, — go woolgathering and absolutely were losing ground. I think, all quickly will fall into place, movement, and God grant that people who are capable to work, by that moment have been claimed» will very soon begin.
«Return back any more won’t be under no circumstances. The structure of Council which remained, quite efficient, competent enough and will be operatively and to solve professionally problems within the limits of that summons which was sounded by the president», — Abduraimov is assured. As he said, to the prime minister of Crimea Vasily Dzharty Yanukovych has charged to hold session of Council of representatives of the Crimean Tatar people with participation of the Crimean Tatar organizations oppositional to Dzhemilev «within two weeks, since August, 26th». «I think, it will spend it, Vasily Georgievich — enough strong-willed person», — is assured Abduraimov.
