Three Languages Should Function in Crimea: Crimean Tatar, Russian and an Ukrainian Languages

Though 80 — 85 % of graduates of the largest Crimean Tatar high school — the Crimean engineering-pedagogical university — found a job at once, graduates-teachers of Crimean Tatar language and literature face difficulties in employment. A weekly Crimean Tatar journal «Voice of Crimea» informs on it.

«At all multicomplexity of this problem, — the rector of CEPU Fevzi Yakubov, — its root that the hours which on studying of Crimean Tatar language at school, are reduced from 0,1 till 3,0 o’clock in a week that is several times less than the hours (from 3,0 till 6,0 o’clock) on studying of an Ukrainian language and Russian, has explained a situation in interview« VC ». Moreover, the Ukrainian language and Russian languages are switched on in an obligatory grid, and Crimean Tatar is given on the decision of teachers’ meeting of school».

According to the rector, the Crimean Ministry of Education and Science is obliged to solve this problem with public support. As to the CEPU two departments work over it, the research centre of the Crimean Tatar language and literature, extensive researches are carried out, annually protected 2-3 dissertations.

«I’m convinced: in Crimea 3 languages should function and to be studied in equal volumes», — Yakubov underlines.
