Turkey Refuses America

Turkey refuses to conclude with America a bilateral agreement about placing of the antimissile radar intended for tracking Iran and called to replace similar object which was supposed to be established earlier in Czechia. Ankara demands, that placing of a radar has got support, including financial, from outside other countries of the NATO, the British Financial Times newspaper informs.

According to the edition, Turkey aspires to maintain the balanced relations both with America, and with Iran and consequently does not want that radar placing looked as the two-way deal directed against Teheran. According to Turkey, in case of placing in its territory of a radar it should become the part of the general system of the ABM of the North Atlantic alliance financed from the budget of the NATO.

Turkey as the country located simultaneously both in Europe, and in the Near East, «very sensitively concerns this question», the Assistant Secretary of defence of the USA on the international safety Alexander Vershbou has told. «However I think that our efforts directed on introducing this system in wider structure of the NATO, have been met very well», — have added Vershbou.
