The president of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko is disturbed by a situation with satisfaction cultural-educational requirements of national minorities of Ukraine. About it it is told in the letter of the President addressed to the prime minister of Ukraine Yulia Timoshenko.

«The situation with satisfaction cultural-educational requirements of national minorities of Ukraine to what numerous letters to me of separate citizens and public organisations» testify causes serious concern, — is told in Yushchenko’s letter.

This year the cultures provided to the Ministry and tourism and to the State committee of Ukraine on affairs of nationalities and religions budgetary expenses in support of ethnoses of Ukraine are reduced in comparison with previous years ten times. Thus and the provided means are allocated not in full, has noted Yushchenko.

«It is convinced that a state policy in sphere international relations should not become the hostage of a difficult financial and economic situation. The state institutes should receive real possibilities to react to calls on prevention of ethnopolitical conflicts. For the purpose of preservation of the constitutional guarantees of citizens, the public consent, tolerance atmosphere in the state, developments of cultural, language, spiritual originality of ethnoses of Ukraine I ask you, dear Julia Vladimirovna, urgently to consider problem questions which exist in ethnonational sphere, and to accept immediate measures under their decision», — the President has underlined.

Yushchenko asks Timoshenko to inform on results personally.
