The president of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych has addressed to compatriots on the occasion of Day of memory of victims of political reprisals.

«Today mournful day for Ukraine. We honour memory of millions of our compatriots who have become by victims of a totalitarian mode. We recollect everyone who has been destroyed by retaliatory system, became the prisoner of a Gulag, has been deprived the parental house and sent on foreign land, — Yanukovich’s press-service expresses his words.

«In 30-40th years of the XX-th century Ukraine has had heavy losses. The Stalin repressive machinery destroyed all who tried to resist him. Any — the peasant or the intellectual, the teacher or the engineer, the worker or the scientist» could become a victim, — the President has reminded.

«It was despair and hopelessness time. Memory and a prayer, and that who has worried terrible years — daily care of them» should be that best honour who was lost, — is told in circulation.
