On the first of February in Alupka the meeting of memory dated by fortieth anniversary of  destruction Twice of the Hero of Soviet Union Ametkhan Sultan (1920 — 1971), died at test of the aviation engine in the winter sky of Russia.

To honour memory of world famous native of Alupka 250 persons, townsmen and visitors from different places of Crimea have gathered. Among them more than third — pupils of Alupka high school named after Ametkhan Sultan. The prayer for the dead — dua in the beginning has sounded.

Before the gathered Alupka’s mayor V.V.Tolstonog, the veteran of national movement of the Crimean Tatars a member of Political council Milli Firka Kemal Kuku have acted. He has shared memoirs and has told about funeral of Ametkhan which participant he was.

On meeting have acted also: the senior research assistant of a museum of Ametkhan the colonel of aircraft in resigation Server Tairov, the director of the Sevastopol house of veterans the colonel in resignation Lobov, the director and pupils of Alupka’s schools, other participants of meeting. The song about Ametkhan was sung by singer Seitabla Memetov who has arrived from Simferopol. In the end of meeting participants have assigned flowers to a monument of the Hero.

THE HERO IS THE HERO, BUT…

The question on assignment to the International airport «Simferopol» of a name twice the Hero of Soviet Union Ametkhan Sultan has received the negative legal decision. On it to journalists was informed by the Chairman of Supreme Rada ARC Vladimir Konstantinov in Simferopol on February, 2nd.

«We have now removed it from the agenda while it has the negative conclusion legal, therefore this question, won’t be worked by lawyers yet, we won’t take out», — Vladimir Konstantinov has told.

Let’s remind, on October, 20th, 2010 the Crimean deputies have refused to appropriate to the International airport «Simferopol» a name twice the Hero of Soviet Union of Ametkhan Sultan.
