Activity activization of Medzhlis on intra- and foreign policy direction is connected, first of all, with date approach on May, 18th — Day of memory of victims of deportation of the Crimean Tatars. Political scientist Victor Harabuga has told about it in the comment «Political archives».

«Date always is an occasion to activization of actions as it is convenient, this important event, and it is convenient means for ethnic mobilisation which Medzhlis actively uses», — has noted Harabuga.

According to the expert, management activization of Medzhlis is connected as well with political uncertainty of Medzhlis in the new situation which have developed after coming to power of Yanukovych and Party of Regions.

«Medzhlis and its heads have lost a niche, have lost a place in a modern situation. They have appeared in uncertain position: their political patrons are discharged of the power, and the new power against which they acted, and actions which they did not approve, is not clear how concerns about them», — the political scientist has noted.

The management of Medzhlis, — is considered by Victor Harabuga, — aspires to fix those privileges which they have received, to spend personnel selection, therefore from its party and there is an activity activization: statements for depression and a dissatisfaction of the Crimean Tatars with the position sound, and their expectations and the requirement are not carried out by the new power.

Making comments on a position of Medzhlis on prolongation of term of basing of the Black Sea fleet in Crimea, the political scientist has noticed that in it there is nothing unexpected, and this position corresponds to that political line, which Mustafa Dzhemilev (the leader of Medzhlis) leads for many years.

«They (a management of Medzhlis) declare that see the enemy in Russia, and preservation of the Black Sea fleet is a geopolitical strengthening of Russia», — has explained V.Harabuga.

In the same time the expert has underlined that the uncooperative altitude to prolongation of terms of basing of the Black Sea fleet of Russia is not opinion of the Crimean Tatar people, and only opinion of a part of elite.

«To speak here about any general discontent it is not necessary. Мedzhlis staked on other people, on other political forces, and from it such situation arises», — the political scientist summarised.
