The European Union Will Allocate to Crimea 80 million euro

Ukraine expects to receive in 2010 from the European union of 80 million euro for development of Crimea, has declared during press conference in Kiev Minister for Foreign Affairs Peter Poroshenko:

«For us projects of Ukraine from EU concerning social and economic development of Crimea are extremely important. Now we can tell that in 2010 we have a possibility to involve more than 80 million euro in economy of Crimea. It will be both grants, and credits. And they will be directed on development of tourism, an infrastructure, system creation water- and power supply. And these projects will be already realised in 2010», — he has informed.

In December, 2009 Germany has already allocated 5 million euro for infrastructure development in Crimea.

As the Ukrainian newspaper «Economic news» has explained, Europe begins a number of investment projects in Crimea as is afraid that the peninsula can become following «flashpoint» after Georgia.

«After the Russian-Georgian war the peninsula Crimea is perceived in the European Union as the following potential zone of the conflict. Therefore incorporated Europe tries to take part as much as possible in a region life», — marked the edition.
