Thrown Children

One more tragedy of the Crimean Tatar people

Last year Nadir Bekirov, Ajder Mustafaev and adji Nuri-efendi, having heard that in a boarding school of №1 of Simferopol Crimean Tatar children are brought up, for a holiday of Ramazan have visited this boarding school and have distributed to children the brought gifts.

From conversation with tutors have learnt that in this boarding school children-orphans with a delay of intellectual development from unsuccessful families are brought up. Having talked to children, they have found out that some of them have parents, but they are deprived the parental rights, a principal cause — an alcoholism, a narcotism, prostitution…

In the absence of the director and the director of studies, they could not receive particulars.

Further the Sanhedrim «Namus» was connected to studying of a question of thrown children of the Crimean Tatar people.

It was entrusted to me to prosecute these subjects. Together with Nuri-efendi we have planned a plan of measures. First of all we have addressed to the director of a boarding school №1 Gerasimenko E.I.

From conversation with the director we have learnt that children there are on full state maintenance, are trained with 1 on 11 class and receive specialised treatment. At school there are experts in neurology, psychotherapy, logopedists and others who weekly are engaged with these children.

To leaving school these children catch up with the contemporaries — healthy children in intellectual development. After the boarding school termination these children arrive in schools, technical schools and HIGH SCHOOLS.

The director of a boarding school has very positively apprehended and has approved the shown care from outside public organisation. During discussion of concrete measures we have decided to organise a cycle of lectures — of conversations for what it was necessary to obtain the permit of the Ministry of Education and Science at this school.

Sanhedrim «Namus» together with history and philology chairs, of Crimean Tatar language and the literature have made the lecture plan. Themes have been included in this plan about friendship of the people on peninsula, about deportation of the Crimean Tatar people, about heroes — the Crimean Tatars, about history, culture, spirituality of the Crimean Tatar people, about Islam as by one of world religions, position of women, the relation of children to parents in Islam, about toponymics, etc.

For carrying out of lectures stories managing chairs of Crimean Tatar language and the literature Refik Kurtseitov and Enise Abibulaeva have promised to allocate teachers and students.

From its part Sanhedrim «Namus» has addressed to the minister of education and sciences Valery Lavrov with the request to resolve carrying out of lectures in a boarding school №1 under the enclosed plan. Such permission has been received, but in connection with quarantine at schools carrying out of lectures has been suspended.

«Namus» on Kurban-bajram has organised departure of children for a holiday which has been spent in territory of «Arraid». The head of «Arraid» doctor Muhammad Taha has allocated for all children of a boarding school gifts in the form of juice and cookies, and to children participating in a holiday have been allocated also individual gifts. Organisation «Namus» expresses gratitude to the doctor M.Taha and the director of «Sim-Siti_Trans» N.Musaev for the allocated bus.

In the Ministry of Education and Science there is a department of social protection and education which is engaged in boarding schools. Employees of this department Trifanov S.I. and Santalov E.O. have very much helped us with data acquisition on these schools.

In АRC there are 22 boarding schools. At these schools children-orphans and children with various diseases are brought up basically. There are boarding schools for deaf children, mentally retarded, poorly hearing, for sick of heart diseases, for asthmatics, for sick boarding schools for healthy needy children Are available gastric diseases, etc. In all a boarding school 378 children of the Crimean Tatars are brought up.

In boarding schools for the presented and needy 160 children are brought up. They are children who have parents.

The others 218 children of the Crimean Tatars concern orphans, or children which parents deprived the parental rights.

Except boarding schools children’s homes concern the Ministry of Education and Science in Feodosiya, Stroganovke and settlement Chernyshevsky. In these children’s homes two Crimean Tatars are brought up.

In Crimea there are still the house-child in Simferopol and Yalta, concerning Ministry of Health, and also the children’s homes concerning the Ministry of youth, a family and the tender policy. Children’s shelters which are in Simferopol, Bakhchisarai, ShChelkino, Armjansk, Kirov and Krasnogvardejsky.

In these shelters there are children who are on the tramp, visitors, homeless and run away of the house. They are hold within three months. After that they are returned to parents if they are, or send in children’s homes or boarding schools. In shelters the nationality is not considered.

The quantity of the Crimean Tatar children who are in children’s homes is unknown, we are intended to be engaged in studying of this question.

Alas, only the Sanhedrim it is obviously not enough efforts for the decision of destiny of thrown children. It is necessary to rescue hese children, try to return them in families!

Therefore to the decision of a question, in my opinion, should be connected and local bodies of national self-management, public organisations, Muslim communities, Assotsijaatsija «Maarifchi,« League of women »and youth associations.

Children in these boarding schools lose an accessory to the people, lose language, culture, spirituality. It is promoted by the priests, who are frequent visitors in boarding schools. They give talks, give lectures on Christian themes, christen children and sprinkle their sacred water. They, knowing nothing about the religion, consider that and should be.

It seems to me, the problem of all Crimean Tatar community is not to allow to lose these children. For this purpose it is necessary, that public structures in each city or settlement where there are these boarding schools, have looked after children the Crimean Tatars. It is necessary to all to help together to unfortunate children to find families and parents…

It is necessary to revive traditions of our people — to take on education of children-orphans, to help people who wish to create private children’s homes, in their organisation and check in.

One such private children’s home already exists in the Soviet area which was organised by the Adzhiev family. They also require the help.

As the charitable help local forces it is necessary to organise celebratory concerts in boarding schools, to invite children to Oraza and Kurban bairams, to organise conversations, to find sponsors for material aid rendering to these schools.

Such children should not remain without attention from outside our people. In difficult years of dispatch when people died of hunger, illness, anybody voluntary did not throw the children and old, sick parents. Children of the orphan getting to children’s homes, were searched by relatives and got into families.

It is difficult to understand, what’s happened in now with our people.

Young Crimean Tatar girls, the future mothers, imitating «fashionable» modern lines, smoke, drink, «hang out» in bars, exposing on display the nakedness. Give birth to children and leave them in genitive houses.

The alcoholism, narcotism have not bypassed some Crimean Tatar families, children who get to shelters, children’s homes and boarding schools became result of that.

It is a lot of cases when safe families will make the old and sick parents in houses for aged.

Often young guys, losing language, culture, spirituality and traditions of the people, create mixed marriages. They lose not only themselves, but also the future children.

It is not many of such guys and girls among our people, but even single instances are a tragedy for our nation.

Therefore it is necessary for all public organisations, the scientist, to government officials to call a round table and to develop the concept of the Crimean tatar people on youth education in traditions of the people.

In the conditions of disappearance of language, culture, spirituality of the Crimean Tatar people, it is necessary to propagandise customs and the traditions, peculiar to it. All of us, joint efforts should save honour, advantage and national pride of our Crimean Tatar people.
