The president of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych has declared that Ukraine is the unitary and democratic state. He has told about it in interview to a weekly journal «2000», making comments on a popular belief that an ideal variant of a state system of Ukraine would be federalization, have informed in the press-service of Party of Regions.
«Ukraine — the unitary state. Point», — the President has underlined. «Unitary and democratic. And it assumes more rights of regions», — he has added.
According to Yanukovych, Council of regions which will actively work over administrative-territorial reform is created. «Last, naturally, means substantial growth of the rights and powers of local authorities. It is important, that the system provided the maximum observance of the rights and maintenance of requirements of each citizen», — the head of the state has declared
Thus he has expressed opinion that a priority today is «overcoming of consequences of «orange »five-years periods, stabilisation of an economic situation and an exit on rails of steady economic growth and increase of well-being of citizens that, besides other, should create possibilities and for carrying out institutional reforms».
