Hizb ut-Tahrir Is Not So Terrible as It Is Said

Ukraine can face a problem of growth of Islamic movements in Crimea, however shouldn’t solve its especially prohibitive methods, the chief executive of the Center of Near-Eastern probes Igor Semivolos considers.

He has declared it during video-online conference on From-UA, transfers a site «Crimea. Comments».

«I the opponent of a formal interdiction of radical groups, including Islamic as in itself radicalism yet isn’t the base for an interdiction. At least, activity in Crimea such Islamic political group as«Hiz ut-Tahrir »today in any way doesn’t threaten to national safety of Ukraine», — he has told.

«Hizb ut-Tahrir» — party which isn’t registered by the state. How can forbid the state what it didn’t allow? »- the expert noticed.

Semivolos considers that the forward-looking policy of prevention of the reasons, instead of struggle against consequences will be correct. «We live in the globalized world where there is a competition of ideas, and by no means we can’t either separate, or forbid idea. The best mode to secure itself against radicalism and extremism displays is not to forbid, and to prevent occurrence of the reasons generating radicalism and extremism», — he has told.
