Difficult processes occur on the eve of forthcoming elections in a Crimean Tatar society. On May, 13th heads of the Medzhlis of the Crimean Tatars Mustafa Dzhemilev and Refat Chubarov have met the president of the country Victor Yanukovych. At that meeting the president has let know it that the Party of Regions will pay much attention to development of Crimea and, in particular, the decision of the collected problems of the deported citizens. For successful work in this direction the political unity that is why it would be good is necessary if the Medzhlis left opposition and has supported the operating new power. But leaders of the Medzhlis have refused the offer of the head of the state.

The reciprocal course of Regions has soon followed. To the country budget have made amendments. In the column «Capital construction for deported» the sum specified earlier have cleaned and have put a crossed out section. In the Medzhlis of this course haven’t understood and continued to insist on a meeting with the president of Council of representatives with his full complement still existing de jure of the Crimean Tatar people at the President of Ukraine. Knowing a position of Mustafa Dzhemilev, Victor Yanukovych has decided «to talk to the Crimean Tatars» and consequently on a meeting with them on August, 3rd in Crimea, except leaders of the Medzhlis, have invited heads of Milli Firka and other Crimean Tatars. Mustafa Dzhemilev and his first deputy Refat Chubarov were categorically against such format and weren’t on a meeting. It was the big error. Moreover, heads of the Medzhlis haven’t come and on the expanded meeting devoted to development of Crimea which was spent by the president.

«If the Medzhlis doesn’t have interest to these questions, means at it there is no future» — Victor Yanukovych ascertained.

At a meeting on August, 3rd the president in the performance has noticed that the Medzhlis which considers itself as a representative body of the Crimean Tatar people, is in opposition to authorities in power. On what a member of Political council Milli Firka Timur Dagdzhi has declared: «If the Medzhlis in opposition to the power, it doesn’t mean, as the people in opposition». The representatives of public organizations who were taking part in this meeting, understood that confrontation with the power which intends to solve the most essential problems of the Crimean Tatars, is unreasonable. They have made the offers.

Having put the big cross on the Medzhlis management, Victor Yanukovych has given rigid instructions to the chairman of the council of ministers of Crimea Vasily Dzharty that all questions, concerning problems deported, he solved together with public organizations. «Involve even the smallest» — he has added.

Attempts of a management of the Medzhlis a post factum to adjust dialogue with the President yet don’t give result and, probably, won’t give. Scandalous statements of Mustafa Dzhemilev have definitively set at variance it with authorities in power in Kiev and to Crimea. On this background on the foreground there is actively operating Milli Firka. It positions itself as a party, but is registered as public organization and consequently on elections can’t go independently.

The Medzhlis traditionally goes on elections under the flag of oppositional Ruh why Milli Firka can’t go under the flag of any party close to presidential, to solve a problem, put by V.Yanukovych? Adhering to this logic, Milli Firka have started a choice of partners. At first it was a question of party «For human rights» which is supervised by Nina Karpatcheva. But this party in Crimea hasn’t enough cells so under the new law this party can participate in elections only in several areas. And as it is known, the Crimean Tatars are disseminated across all Crimea.

Eventually, the choice has been made in favor of the Ukrainian Village Democratic party. As it is known, 80 percent of the Crimean Tatars live in villages. God ordered to connect actively to «peasants» them to a government program on agriculture development in Crimea. Logic simple: the Ukrainian Village democratic party supports a policy of Regionals so will promote the decision of the problems put by the president concerning the Crimean Tatars.

Not to compete on elections with each other, Milli Firka has addressed to the compatriots with an appeal to unite. But Mustafa Dzhemilev has let know that his political force will go on elections independently. Understanding that split in a Crimean Tatar society in what good won’t result, Milli Firka suggests to unite to all public organizations which are out of influence of the Medzhlis. In councils of various levels they are ready to put forward not only heads, but also ordinary active members of these organizations.

At Milli Firka one problem: whether they can for short term prior to the beginning of election campaign inform the supporters and the people that the Ukrainian Village democratic party in Crimea is and there is Milli Firka. If can — they will win. And this victory will show that the Crimean Tatars not in opposition to authorities in power and are ready to put into practice the problems planned by the president under the decision of political and social and economic problems deported together with the new power.
