Detention of group of radical Islamites in Crimea has turned back political games. On terrorism play BYT and the ethnic organisation of the Crimean Tatars Medzhlis. But main suspected of terrorism till now on freedom.

Vigilant natives

In May SSU reported that has prevented foreigners to create in Ukraine a cell «the international terrorist organisation» Hizb-ut-Tahrir «(« the clearing Party », is forbidden in 29 countries). Probably, then the special service has revealed not all extremists, and their ideas have started to extend. Today on the Internet even the site« as Hizb-ut-Tahrir Ukraine »on which the organisation names itself Islamic party works and assures that does not use violent methods for achievement of the purposes. Also in Crimea the newspaper»Renaissance»in which statements of this organisation are printed is published.

On October, 6th the central board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Crimea has declared capture of the armed gang of Islamites from three persons. At a trace of criminals the militia was guided by local residents. Extremists worked on buildings in Yalta, visited a local mosque where have got acquainted with supporters of «Hizb-ut-Tahrira». At first they divided ideas «tahirs», but then under the influence of the religious literature became supporters of even more radical organisation — «to At-Takfir val-Hidzhra» («the Anathema and Hidzhra» where Hidzhra symbolises the beginning of a Muslim era, Mohammed’s resettlement from Mecca to Medina).

Following precepts of this movement, active workers have ceased to go to mosques, have destroyed passports and have gone underground. Money extracted a criminal way — larceny. Simultaneously bought up the weapon, studied bases of conducting guerrilla and diversionary war in the conditions of mountain-woody district of Crimea. In area of V.Chistenoe the Simferopol area radicals have constructed the bunker-cache and hired supporters.

Caught and has not caught

One of three detained radicals has agreed to co-operate with the investigation, then the militia together with SSU has spent searches in seven places of residing of extremists. Special action has passed on October, 23rd. Trotyl draughts with detonators, knifes, the terrorist literature, Kalashnikov’s automatic machine, cartridges and «shahid’s belt», plastic bottles with an explosive, tents, the military form have been found.

Besides, during operation citizen Ismail Ibragim Rustemovich of 1979 of a birth searched by law enforcement bodies whom searched on suspicion in the organisation of attempt at murder of the imam of a mosque in Simferopol and his security guard in 2008 has been detained for a long time. The ideological instructor and the leader of movement «At-Takfir val-Hidzhra» in Ukraine Emiraliev Amet Seit Mamutovich of 1961 of the birth, living in the Bakhchsarai area has appeared the second arrested person.

According to Minister of Internal Affairs Jury Lutsenko, Islamites wished to kill the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Mustafa Dzhemilev who supervises over the ethnic organisation of the Crimean Tatars — Medzhlis. Also radicals planned to kill relatives of colleagues of Mr. Dzhemilev and to spend a number of acts of terrorism.

Dangerous games

Not clear there is only one aspect of this special action: what for militia tells about it in details, if it, as a matter of fact, it is not finished? As world practice shows, terrorists just search public publicity of the actions.

Probably, behind a sensation round detention of extremists there are political grounds. According to last interrogations of the Center of Razumkov, only 40 % of the Crimean Tatars trust today to Medzhlis that does not guarantee synchronous voting in January. According to the former chief of information-analytical management of the Supreme body of Crimea, the Crimean political scientist Alexander Formanchuk, Yulia Timoshenko can type on peninsula to 14 % if at least 60 % of the Crimean Tatars vote for its nominee. According to the source «the Left coast» in the Bakhchsarai area of Crimea, in many mosques already prophesy arrival of the woman-president with a plait. And growth of the importance of Mustafa Dzhemilev, growth of his popularity and opposition to his other large group of voters of peninsula — Prorussian to citizens, can rally even more the Crimean Tatars round leader of Medzhlis.
