The representative of indigenous population of Australia Maurie Ryan has declared intention to create political party for upholding of the rights of natives. On it on December, 2nd informs Agence France Presse. The party will receive the name «First Nations».
According to Ryan, the Australian natives don’t have possibility to defend the rights through political tools, and the party is created for this purpose. «In our country approximately 27 political parties, but any of them doesn’t represent interests of indigenous population», — he has added.
According to Ryan, the party will deal with directly problems of natives, however further can be engaged in wider spectrum of questions, having made a competition to the basic Australian parties — to labourites and liberals.
Ryan has accused both main parties of the country of «racism of the highest level» and power suppression of the disorders which have flashed in 2007 in the remote reservations.
