On February, 1st on the square named after Ametkhan Sultan has passed the meeting devoted to the 39 anniversary from the date of tragical destruction of the legendary test pilot, the son of the Crimean Tatar people — Ametkhan Sultan. Ametkhan Sultan tragically was lost at test of the newest fighter SU-16. The history still should dot one’s «i’s» in the true reasons of this accident.
Аmetkhan Sultan was lost, but his spirit, his affairs, a merit, the selfless love for the country, heroic courage, fearlessness as it has been noted on meeting, will always live in memory of the Crimean Tatar people and will be an example for rising generation. So should be.
Unfortunately, realities absolutely others. Despite announcements in mass-media, transfers on TV channels, radio, on meeting was a few people, basically the veterans of national movement personally knowing Ametkhan Sultan people, his acquaintances.
The meeting organisation, has been for some reason charged an applied art museum. It is necessary to give due to workers of a museum that they at the possibilities could organise adequately this meeting.
In my opinion, such actions should be spent at the state level because Ametkhan Sultan on fronts protected not only his people. Thanks to heroism of Amethan Sultan and many people who are similar to him, the present generation can peacefully live in Crimea.
The big regret calls the relation of Crimean Tatar youth to such actions. The numerous youth organisations of Crimea should take part in such meetings in the most active image.
And, if to consider that in the CSPU and TNU there are many representatives of Crimean Tatar youth who could come on such actions, it becomes insulting that they are so indifferent to legendary persons as Amethan Sultan.
Certainly, the place has important value, where there memorial plates are and where meeting gathers.
Market square where vagabonds, drunkards «manage», addicts, drink spirits and leave heaps of dust, to name a name of the legendary pilot-hero was blasphemy and mockery at his light memory. This insults not only Amethan Sultan, but also all the Crimean Tatar people, a spittle in soul of the people.
Memory of Amethan Sultan should be marked not on the Market square, but on one of central squares of Simferopol, and the memorial plate is necessary to be placed in more decent for this case place…
If the city management cannot find a worthy place for a memorial plate of the heroic pilot of the verifier, let it will not be and on a market square.
Despite the weak organisation, meeting has passed. Veterans of national movement acted, recollected meetings with Amethan Sultan, spoke about his heroic feats.
It would be desirable to express sincere gratitude to all workers of a museum and we will hope that further our youth, studying the heroic past of the people, will be worthy change to the ancestors.
In the end of meeting the resolution addressed to the chairman of the Supreme Rada of Crimea A.Gritsenko has been accepted, with the request to consider the reference of pilots of the Crimean Tatars about assignment of a name of Amethan Sultan to the international Airport of Simferopol and to satisfy it.
