«Dream Land» — the book about destiny of the people

On September, 9th in theCrimean Tatar Museum of arts within the limits of exhibition opening «calligraphy Art» there has passed book presentation about destinyof the Crimean Tatar people, about struggle for possibility to return on the historical native land to Crimea «Dream Land — One girl’s struggle to find her true home».

The book was published in the autumn of 2008 in Great Britain. The author of the book — the known British journalist Lili Hyde.

The main heroine of the book — Safinar Ismailova, the twelve years girl who comes to Crimea with her parents in search of the native home. All life parents of Safinar dreamt of returning to Crimea, in native village of the grandfather Adym-Chokrak at a foot of Mangup-Kale. But change of the arranged well house in Samarkand on dirty tent on self-capture seems to the girl the present nightmare. 12 km way to school Safinar goes on foot. But transferring all difficulties which faces Crimean Tatar people on the Native land, Safinar and her family do not lose belief in the light future. Beginning all from the very beginning, the family of Safinar, as well as thousand Crimean Tatar families, struggles for the stay in Crimea, for revival of the language and culture, for justice restoration.

Product is penetrated by a motive of love of the Crimean Tatars to the native earth. Narrating about the difficulties which arise before the Crimean Tatars who are coming back to Crimea, the author feels it deeply and transfers a trouble of the whole people, accurately traces thoughts and experiences of the protagonists compelled anew to begin a life in the hardest conditions of open aversion, humiliations and insults.

Lili Hyde is well familiar with customs, ceremonies and a way of life of Crimean Tatar people, throughout several years it collected the information on deportation of the Crimean Tatars here in Crimea, communicating with the people who have endured this terrible tragedy, taking part in demonstrations of the victims of deportation of 1944 devoted to memory.

The book «Dream Land» in English, is issued by artist Sara Koleman. In the book 280 pages. Some copies of the book «Dream Land» are in Republican library of Gasprinsky, and also in library of the Crimean engineering-pedagogical university and on department of English language in CEPU.
