The cases embroidered by gold threads for the Koran, marvellous ceramic dishes, carpets with freakish patterns, prayful rugs…In Kharkov there was a possibility to touch ancient culture of the Crimean Tatars. For the first time for two hundred year’s history of the Kharkov art museum the exhibition of arts and crafts of the Crimean Tatar people here has opened.

In an exposition — colourful works of masters of creative association «Chatyr-Dag»: the figured carpets, bright red velvet Tatar dresses shining by gold, the surprising ceramic dishes embroidered with a panel, belts, vests, bracelets from felt, exotic copper djezve for the coffee, the bracelets embroidered by beads from felt, the most thin silver jeweller ornaments. In the Crimean art millenia and the most ancient civilisations have fancifully intertwined.

Is a tremendous art, — the initiator of an exhibition, the head of a model team «Fine art studio» the Humming-bird »the Center of children’s creativity № 1 Natalia Goroshko assures. — This exhibition is impregnated by smells and paints of the present Crimea. Amaze with a subtlety the Tatar silver fabric and embroideries on felt, the ceramics painted with liquid glass is very interesting.

The exhibition passes in frameworks of the scale project «Crimean style» which purpose — to revive traditional art of Tatars, to acquaint with it as many people as possible.

The author and the curator of the project — a member of the National Union of artists of Ukraine, a member of the National Union of national masters of Ukraine Mamut Churlu — is engaged in art of manufacturing of carpets more than 20 years. Traditional Crimean carpets are natural: they are done of the sheep wool, and a surprising palette create by means of vegetative dyes.

— To paint threads it is possible almost by any plants, — tells Mamut Churlu. — the Onions peel, for example, will give both yellow, and red, and deeper brown tone. And that paints have not faded and have not burnt out — they are fixed by salts of metals.

Even not natural, apparently, blue and dark blue colours Tatars «take» from plants.

— Unique in the world dark blue dye — indigo, — devotes in sacraments of manufacturing of carpet beauty of Mamut Churlu. — It grows in tropics, and I write out it from Germany and I paint on very difficult technology.

Exposition has decorated also magnificent white wedding fes — it is made in the technician batic. The scarf which is put on traditionally by brides is applied to fes. The younger the bride — the shorter scarf should be, the artist warns.

The place of honour at an exhibition is occupied with surprising decorative dishes of young master Rustem Skibin. Rustem has brought to Kharkov and the present Tatar drums: they are ceramic fitted by a genuine leather. Rustem — the author of a bright painted vessel from a huge pear-shaped pumpkin-gorljanka.

— It is empty inside and to use it as a vessel, from a pumpkin cut off the top part, clean and fry thoroughly in oil. Its form is created not only by the nature: a pumpkin form at cultivation, tying with cords, — Rustem Skibin shares with technology.

The exhibition «Crimean style» will be exhibited at a showroom of an art museum till April, 8th.
