Whether it is possible to consider АРC as the Crimean Tatar autonomy?

Whether you consider, that the Crimean autonomy should be transformed to area?

Whether you consider as an error a setting out by the Crimean Tatars of a referendum on a reconstruction of the Crimean autonomy in 1991?

Newspaper edition «Voice of Crimea» has decided to spend such poll, having addressed to public people from among our compatriots. Unfortunately, some state officials and deputies in view of the «exclusive employment» haven’t wished to answer our questions.

Vasvi Abduraimov —

Chairman of Kenesh (Council) «Milli Firka»:

— АRC in its present status is neither de jure, nor de facto an autonomy of the Crimean Tatars.

— All depends on what will be after. If liquidation of a present autonomy causes finding of the original sovereignty by Crimea and independence taking into account the rights and interests of living ethnic communities all nowadays on peninsula and its citizens irrespective of a national and confessional accessory liquidation of present «autonomy» will be the blessing for inhabitants of Crimea.

If liquidation АRC causes still stronger strengthening of suppression of any national life as that let at least the form remains. At least we will keep possibility under more favorable conditions to fill «vessel» the necessary maintenance.

There was exclusively verified position of the people and its national movement. I think, time for reconsideration of an essence of the Crimean autonomy and the gear of realization of the fundamental right of self-determination for the Crimean Tatar people still will come.

Aziz Abdullaev — vice-premier АRC:

— АRC it is possible to consider as an autonomy of all inhabitants of peninsula. The autonomy in territory of Ukraine is the first step showing democratic principles of multinational Crimea. Along with all nations living in Crimea, the Crimean Tatars have possibility and access to a native language, religion and self-determination in all interests, concerning persons.

— The Crimean autonomy for all living on peninsula is a defining, first link of development of democratic principles, the beginning which has been put in the XX-th century beginning. The question on liquidation is inconceivable for today. And I am assured that many people living in Crimea will agree with me that the Crimean autonomy should be and should develop.

Ali Hamzin — the head of department of external relations of Medzhlis of the Crimean Tatar people:

— For creation of present Autonomous republic Crimea by the base, historical and legal reason our national autonomy on peninsula which has existed 24 years, with 1921 for 1945 has acted. And its abolition in 1945, logically, actions of executioners of our people legally were correct and proved — «the radical Crimean Tatar people is deported from Crimea — shouldn’t exist and its national autonomy» that only confirms its status as national education.

This historic fact of formation a national autonomy has served as a unique substantiation for known politicians in 90th years of the XX-th century who in relation to the Crimean Tatars have played an artful role of artful characters from a fairy tale «the Fox and a hare ». Having got of support rotting then Soviet Kremlin and followed a way of independence of Kiev, they have held a referendum in Crimea where, however, have been compelled to raise the question: «you for a reconstruction Crimean ASSR as subject of USSR and participant of the Allied contract?». Notice, «for a reconstruction», instead of «creation».

Therefore, as it is paradoxical, present АRC legally and actually is our national autonomy though under the maintenance that yet isn’t.

I don’t see the reasons for liquidation of the Crimean autonomy.

The setting out the Crimean Tatars of a referendum on a reconstruction of the Crimean autonomy in 1991 was correct political and a critical decision of our national movement led by OCNM. Program documents of organizers of allcrimean referendum on «an autonomy reconstruction» have completely ignored the Crimean Tatar factor that was hard reflected in modern development of the Crimean Tatar people. For this reason today our people de facto in the face of all Ukrainian and international communities are in a discrimination condition.

Though to «artful foxes», it was time to understand that at the first stage the representation in all structures of the power of the Crimean Tatars, at least in their percentage parity to the peninsula population, except stabilization and appeal of Crimea to investors, would act also as the guarantor of its preservation.

While we are witnesses of excessive ambition of the authorities of an autonomy and Kiev, showing the negative relation to our people, and it is only worthy regrets.

In my opinion, today logically to reckon autonomies in Crimea not since 1991, and from 1921, and it is necessary to note its 90 anniversary. Time also has come to think of filling of this autonomy by the Crimean Tatar maintenance.
